As a psychic medium and animal communicator, I get all kinds of questions thrown at me during readings. Over the years I have come to the realization that it’s not so much the question that is being asked but how it is being asked that makes the difference between getting no answer and or a full response to your questions. There is a list of things that I and most psychics – or at least those with ethics – will avoid answering or dealing with.

1.) How and when will I die?

Very few ask this question … but to those who wonder, trust me – you do not want the answer and most likely any psychic whom you ask that question of will not respond to it. There are of course rare exceptions, but by and large leave this one alone.

2.) Will I … “insert monetary desire here”).

For example if you ask a psychic, will my business make a profit this year? The psychic has a very limited number of ways to respond to that question. For example if the psychic says, “yes” than you may rest on your laurels expecting to make a profit regardless of what you do. If I or any other psychic tells you that you will lose money, than you may not make an effort since you believe that all the hard work in the world will not pay off. The key is this … you must ask how is it possible to make a profit this year? We may or may not get an answer to this question, but at least it has a shot at being answered in a fashion that makes both parties happy.

Think about this for a moment … we all have free will and we make decisions based upon information we have concerning various opportunities that we are presented in life. I will use another example of how our free will dictates the response to some questions … bear in mind that each situation is unique, but this gives a good idea of the mechanics behind the concept of free will and asking a psychic a question about your life.

Not too long ago I was doing a reading for an individual who had a health related concern. I zeroed in on the heart surgery they had received as well as the nature of their problem with their heart. When asked if they would require additional operations to repair the heart I was unable to come up with a simple yes or no response, the answer was a bit more complex. If they lost the weight they would not require the additional surgery, however if they kept the weight or gained weight then the additional surgery would be required.

3.) What can I do to make “name” love me?

Love spells, potions, candles, incantations and so forth are never genuine. You cannot force a person to love something or someone. You can make yourself a bit more attractive perhaps, but if you are not meant to be with someone, all the consultations with all psychics in the world would not make a difference. The frauds would try and sell you a portion, a spell or a candle, but honestly, you cannot make someone to love something that it is not in their nature to love.

Several times I have had to work with readings where I am dealing with a love struck individual. Not, so much love struck, but obsessed, infatuated and irrational. Many times the person believes that by being with the person whom they desire, though rarely know, that they will be whole. These people are often so unhappy with their own lives that they become obsessed with someone else, whom they deem to be in a better situation, more together, more attractive etc., than them. By identifying with the object of their desires, they see themselves elevated as well.

The problem with these situations is that were the people to get together with each other, almost invariably it will be a dysfunctional relationship. When a person has had their advances brushed aside, ignored and turned down, it is time to either look to another person for companionship or it is time to do some deep soul searching and make some changes within your own life.

Until we love ourselves and are comfortable within our own bodies, (and take care of them of course) it is not possible to truly find a loving relationship where both parties are on level ground and where the relationship is symbiotic.  If you feel the need to ask the above question, rephrase it as such … “Is there a way to make it so that “name” and I can have a healthy relationship together?” and be prepared for any response.

Believe it or not … I have had some people who I would consider stalker material, try and get a reading for the purpose of stalking their favorite stars, etc. I have no interest in being an enabler and when presented with such individuals I will try and help them with themselves or flat our refuse to do a reading for them.

4.) What are the winning lottery numbers?

Variations to the above question may involve gambling on sports, stocks and or any other type of get rich quick scheme. The problem with this question is that it upsets the natural balance of things and as such is simply not going to be answered. Many times there is simply no response to this question. In very rare cases you may get an answer though I am not so sure that I would trust the answer as it may be inaccurate and designed to simply teach you a lesson … to not ask these types of questions.

Summary

When thinking of questions to ask a psychic, it is important to think about the literal response to your question. Many times all that is required is a bit of rephrasing in order to obtain an answer to your question that is of some benefit.

For example: “Will I go to Europe this year?”

The response could be a simple yes or no, but that does not help you out too much … if your intent is to find out how to get to Europe.

Perhaps you should ask: “What can I do to make it to Europe this year?”

Last Wednesday my wife Heidi and I had an opportunity to mix business with pleasure. A few weeks prior I had read an article in the San Francisco Chronicle about the Haskell residence and the reports of the ghost of Senator Broderick who is reported to haunt the property.

150 years ago he died after partaking in a duel where Justice David Terry wounded him after his gun misfired. Three days after the duel he died of his injury at the home of his friend.

After reading the story in the paper, I wrote in a comment in the comments section online and remarked that using a Ouija board to connect with his spirit was not a good idea and potentially dangerous. I was then contacted by a friend of the homes owner who requested that I facilitate the evenings activities, a séance if you will, with the intent of connecting with the ghost of Senator Broderick.

The residence is within the grounds of Fort Mason and offers sweeping views of San Francisco Bay. The weather was warm and the winds were not too intense, in short it was perfect weather for a picnic. Before the séance, Heidi and I dropped off the girls with a friend and then with 3 hours to go until we were scheduled to arrive at the party, we looked for a place to enjoy dinner.

We briefly considered a picnic, but opted instead for Italian at Caesars in North Beach. Dinner was great and the waiters were a lot of fun. After dinner we headed out to Fort Mason and located the residence where we were going to attempt to contact the ghost or ghosts reported to be haunting the location.

After taking several photos of the view from the residence and photos of the home its self, we headed inside and we began the evenings activities in earnest. Sometime after the guests arrived and everyone had mingled a bit, we met up in the living room and following a quick Q&A session I recounted the fateful sequence of events which had transpired some 150 years prior and which was the whole reason for our being called to the residence.

At this point everyone present became quiet and waited patiently for me to make a connection with the Senator or his adversary Justice Terry. After what was an inordinately long period of silence and with some in attendance becoming restless, I felt a sudden shift.

Now let me back up here a bit, three days prior to this evening I had been briefly contacted by a spirit who told me that he was Senator Broderick and that he would make a showing at the upcoming séance. Also … upon arriving at the home and walking into the dining

room I felt a spirit who seemed to me to be the spirit of our “guest of honor”. Though he did not approach me at that time, I was fully expecting him to connect with me quickly as I began the séance.

As the minutes ticked by … and the lights once again flickered … as they had all evening, I suddenly sensed a presence who was working to merge with me. What happened next had nothing to do with the flickering lights, (wiring is old and needs to be redone) it had everything to do with why were had come together that evening.

I felt a huge amount of nerves and began to become very anxious. Pretty soon I felt as if I had been thumped in the right side of my chest and I felt adrenaline coursing through my body. At some point I began to feel a tremendous tingling all throughout my body followed by coldness at the extremities. I realized that I was bleeding out and as the blood was draining out of me, my strength was sapped at the same time. Finally I felt as though I couldn’t breathe and everything blacked out. I felt an incredibly sense of having been done a great injustice and of having passed before my work was done.

Throughout the above sequence of events, I became visibly animated, almost over the top. At some point I began weeping spontaneously and I also dropped a very full glass tumbler filled with water onto the hardwood floor in the living room. No one moved to mop it up until several minutes after the Senator’s visit.

At first he seemed to have great control of my body and voice. He spoke of being proud of what he fought for, how he liked the fact that a black man was in office and then commented on the lack of one being present. When asking if there were questions for him, no one had much in the way of questions about him as a person – or what he stood for, other than a mere handful of queries at best.

At this point people began asking questions desired to determine if it really was him. He was not too pleased with the nature of the new questions and determining that people were more interested in a ghost story rather than the life of a once prominent Senator, that he had no interest in having to prove that it was him to anyone present, in short he did not care if they believed it was him or not. Afterwards the Senator told me privately that he was somewhat insulted or slighted that people would think that he was a ghost after all this time. He said that by saying such, that they were implying that he was not aware and not a man capable of facing his life review and moving forward with his spirits journey into the afterlife. He wanted it to be clear that while the house may have been haunted at one time, that it was not his spirit that people still felt there and that people needed to remember that not just ghosts are responsible for peoples brushes with the other side and that spirits too can manipulate the physical realm.

After the Senator left me, and we had taken a brief break, I returned and began the second half of the evenings activities. At this point I shifted the focus of the evening and asked those in attendance to give me names of loved ones that were in spirit that they would like to connect with. I included live animals and past animals as well and then went back to a meditative state.

The first spirit to come through was a gentlemen’s grandfather who had taken the grandson out sailing on a frequent basis. He revealed how he passed and relayed a cryptic message which was rather difficult to understand at the time. Next another spirit came through, a woman who had dealt with a serious disfigurement which relayed as being embarrassing and private. When she came through she announced her presence by showing off her red hair to me. Some more happened, but honestly I do not recall all the details at this time.

Later when it was time for me to work with the animals I connected with one of the dogs who was present during the evenings activities. The dog had digestive problems and talked with me at length. He described what was happening with the throwing up etc., and talked about the different foods they had tried for the dog. Nothing seemed to be working, I picked up that it was more of an allergy issue than anything else and that they should see a holistic vet. The dog requested one, he also told me how the brown rice was bland and nasty and how he did not eat it. He then told me about the oatmeal and how he liked it, but they did not give it to him because when he ate it he had eaten it too fast and too much and had thrown it up . Everything about the food was confirmed of course and then the dog told me that he was eight years old, earlier that same day the dogs humans had been told that by their vet.

Once we had picked up the kids and returned home it was 1:30 AM, by 3:30 AM we had finally let the day go, it was a lot of fun and after getting home it became apparent why I had desired and smoke a cigarette at the séance earlier that evening. We were being visited by someone who was a star in one of favorite movies and even after being told to quit, he continued to sneak cigarettes up until the bitter end. Perhaps that story will be told in the future …

Fall Creek Redwoods

Fall Creek Redwoods

One recent weekend I found myself busy with a late group reading in Oakland on Friday followed by an early morning guided beach combing excursion in Santa Cruz. The reading went great … one of the things that I will remember the most from it was channeling the flavor and texture of dead mice that had been frozen and then thawed in a microwave oven, simply not on par with a freshly killed live mouse according to the great horned owl who I was channeling. One of the individuals at the reading revealed that he worked with wild animal rescue and rehabilitation and confirmed that he was indeed feeding frozen and then thawed mice to the owl, pretty nasty stuff if you ask either the owl or myself.

The following morning found me squeezing into a wetsuit with a badly sunburned patch on my back, (a story for another day … perhaps) and meeting my clients in Davenport where the embers from the recent lockheed forest fire were still smoldering. The air had a decidedly wet campfire smell to it and after grabbing a cup of coffee and a giant oatmeal and raisin cookie at the Whale City Bakery, Bar and Grill we headed to the beach. The surf was up … way up with a big storm out in the Pacific and the sea glass collecting was a bit dangerous to put it lightly. The first real wave to hit the beach we were on hit with such force that I was knocked down instantly along with my coffee and with my life vest not yet zipped up. I lost my coffee, almost lost my vest and grabbed my client and helped her to her feet and for the rest of the day we gave the ocean a bit wider berth. Later in the day near the end of the guided

beach combing trip, we ran into a seal who had beached himself right near the higher end of the water line. I did not see him until I was about six feet away as I had my head down looking for abalone shell and sea glass. He announced his presence with a quick bark and then laid his head back down, best as I could tell … he was sick from ingesting some plastic or something to that effect.

Back in Santa Cruz later around 1 pm, I had just finished cleaning up after playing in the surf earlier that morning and had the bright idea to go for a hike in the redwoods. I wanted to go someplace with water,  such as a creek and with towering trees. It was easily around 90 degrees and my sister wanted to go to the beach at first but when I mentioned heading out to the redwoods … she suggested that we visit Fall Creek as she had been feeling pulled to go there herself.

We drove up into the Santa Cruz mountains and parked at one of the trail entrances. The quarrying and processing of limestone used to be big business in the Santa Cruz region prior to the 1900s and ruins from one such operation are located amongst the redwoods within the Fall Creek portion of Henry Cowell State Park. We found a parking space in the shade, locked up the car and headed down the trail.  Since discovering an ability to connect with not just human and animal spirits, but also being able to connect with plant life … I had not yet gone to the redwoods with the specific intent to communicate with the trees and other plants.

The hike to the lime stone kilns was very pleasant and we chatted about how poorly managed the forest was. We were commenting that there was far too much deadwood on the forest floor and that our modern policy of fire suppression in the forest was a complete disaster. We discussed how the natives would encourage controlled burns and how ever since the “white” man had arrived we had disrupted the natural cycle of fire and new growth.

Before too long the redwoods had worked their magic on us and we had our cameras out recording various sights that we wanted to capture and bring back with us. There were several butterflies and dragonflies and I managed to capture some very nice photos where I took my pictures only inches away from my subjects … no need for zoom. After some time we arrived at the ruins of the limestone kilns and enjoyed reading about what had been there in the past. At one time up to 40 men worked at the kilns … mostly Portuguese and Italian immigrants. We walked over to the kilns for a closer look and discovering that one of the doors was missing, we walked into one of the kilns and sat down in the middle.

For awhile we simply chatted about this and that and then I decided to put out a “blanket” call out to the forest. I made a request for anyone who wished to connect with us to chat with us. I addressed the animals and the plants as well as the spirits of the humans who had been there in the past, the natives and the workers at the kilns. After several moments of silence I got the feeling that we were not going to make contact with anyone there and so we started back down the trail in the direction that we had come from.

We took a few more photographs in the fading light and continued along the trail, pretty soon we saw a nice spot across the creek from us and we crossed over on some fallen trees that lay across the creek. We found a place that was elevated about 6 feet above the creek bed and just on the edge of the creek. As we sat there I once again went into a brief meditative state and while gazing down the bed of the creek I waited for someone to contact us.

All of a sudden I saw it … about fifty feet in front of us, I saw a large orb of energy … about five feet in diameter. The orb of energy was clearly visible to me with the naked eye, it appeared as a distortion in the atmosphere like a ripple or like what happens when you view an object through a water bubble. As far as orbs go, it was the largest ball of energy I had ever seen before and it continued slowly up the creek bed until it was only a few feet away from me and standing directly to the left of me. My sister turned to look at me as she had seen it too. By the way she was acting I knew that I was not just seeing things, she had clearly seen and felt it too. As it stood to the side of us, all of a sudden she broke out in goosebumps all over her body, even though it was 90 degrees and then I too broke out in big goosebumps.

We briefly chatted to establish that we had both seen and felt the same thing and then it was time to figure out who our guest was. At first I thought that we were dealing with a native who may have been a chieftain, but very quickly I realized that this was not the spirit of a human. I then checked to see if they were animal and I once again got a resounding “no”. I thought that perhaps there was a chance that this entity was from another world, but when queried it was apparent that they were from earth. Then the entity showed me everything in the forest all at once and I asked if they were rock and mineral to which I got a resounding yes!

At once it became clear to me … the plants, the animals and even the people who were and who had been here, were all part of the soil. All of their bodies came from the rocks and minerals present within the earth. As I had gone into the forest to connect with it, here I was connecting with the land itself  which of course was what the forest was made from. After

establishing to some extent … who we were communicating with, I decided to start the conversation and ask him some questions. But before I could do so, the forest turned the tables on me and told me that he wanted to start the conversation.

He wanted to greet us and thank us for taking the time to come and visit him. He said that he was honored to have an opportunity to connect with us and appreciated what we had been saying about the need for controlled burns. He said that it was refreshing to have someone recognize that he was in a bad state and overdue for a cleansing fire. Then I asked him how was it that he was male? He indicated that he really was not male or female but that for the sake of conversation that we were to refer to him in the male form, he also indicated that it was traditional in our society for the males to take such a leadership role, just like a native chieftain.

One of our biggest questions was if you are not the planet in general, such as Mother Earth, than what are your physical boundaries and do you stay one size or adjust to fit the size of the forest? What happened next convinced me beyond a shadow of a doubt that who we were talking with was the park itself and all of the land within it’s borders. When queried  as to his size, he indicated that he was part of Henry Cowell State Park which I was not aware of at the time, I simply thought that Fall Creek was it’s own independent park. I asked him if he could tell me how large he was in square miles and I got a resounding yes. I asked if he was greater than 10 square miles and I got a no. I asked if he was smaller than 5 square miles and I got a no. I asked if he was between 5 to 10 square miles and I got a yes. Then the number 6.7 jumped at me and I settled at somewhere around 6.4 to 6.7 square miles.

Fall Creek Redwoods forest floor.

It was starting to get darker in the forest and after our brief conversation with the forest … with the land … we decided that it was time to head out. Upon returning home later that day, I looked up the size of Fall Creek park. First I discovered that it was part of Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park and when you took the acreage of both the Fall Creek unit and the main part of the park  and added them together that they were equal to 6.47 square miles! The park told me what size he was and very accurately … remarkable, now it’s time to visit some other parks and see if I can do the same thing there.
