Charles

When I first started writing about my experiences as a psychic medium and animal communicator I found myself blogging a lot and worked hard to get the word out about my services and to share with others the amazing discovery’s and realizations that have brought me so much comfort and peace. Now that my name is becoming fairly well known in some circles, I find myself very busy with readings, my family, gardens, orchard and my new hobby of taking part in local community theatre.

At first I used to blog nearly daily, then I started sharing more on Facebook – where I find myself posting far more often then here. My Facebook account is tied to Twitter and so a Facebook post goes out on Twitter as well. I may begin blogging more in the future, but it is not too likely. Some of the stories I am keeping in reserve for book material and much of the back story about how I do what I do and how I got to where I am is already blogged about here.

For many years I have worked to support my family, at one time I held three jobs – working for a coffee company, a photocopier company, and a party equipment rental and management company. This was in Seattle soon after the birth of my first daughter. Later on after moving to California I found myself working 80+ hour work weeks for another entertainment company, handling team building events and summer picnics for large corporations and again found myself without a “life” outside of work.

Then around 2004 I discovered “sea glass” on a beach in San Francisco Bay and began my own business selling sea glass, sea glass jewelry and jewelry making supplies – I called my company “By the Bay Treasures.” In 2006 I was one of the principal founders of “The North American Sea Glass Association” and hosted their first annual sea glass festival. We had an amazing turnout and that year I was filmed by the Travel Channel, was in Coastal Living magazine and did newspaper and radio interviews regarding the sea glass business and association.

In 2006 I also had my first real encounter with the paranormal as an adult and was shocked to discover that what I had considered as an overactive childhood imagination was actually my having had paranormal experiences while as a kid. After discovering my new path in life I stepped down from the presidency of the sea glass association, launched my web site http://www.charlespeden.com and sold http://www.bythebaytreasures.com.

My first few years working exclusively as a psychic medium and animal communicator were focused on building a clientele, getting my name out there and moving my family away from the crime and congestion of the big city and into the peace and beauty of the country.

Now I am finally at a place in my life where I can enjoy living and not just struggle each day to make it. My work as a psychic medium and animal communicator keeps me very busy. My wife who from time to time had to work outside the home has been fortunate enough to stay at home raising and teaching our two daughters, caring for the home and now she is also my booking assistant and manages all of my scheduling.

She and I have reached a place in our lives where we are finally able to enjoy life and not always worry about the next bill or gang violence etc., yes we have worked hard to get here, and while we are doing well – we could always be doing better but are very thankful for what we do have.

Last year I rekindled an old interest from many years ago and found myself reading at auditions for a play that my eldest daughter was auditioning for with the Volcano Theatre Company. My wife has been active in children’s theatre for many years and while never having time to get involved I would on occasion watch from the sidelines and would try and attend all the performances to support my daughter.

Well I ended up getting cast in Christmas Yet to Come, a twist on A Christmas Carol and as I had so much fun in it (acting with my entire family – we all ended up in the production) that when auditions for 12 Angry Men were held, I found myself reading for a part and with some stiff competition was cast as juror number two. After an amazing run, I auditioned for The Wizard of Oz and was not cast, however both my daughters landed roles in it. I then auditioned for House of Frankenstein and was cast as Dracula while my eldest daughter was given her biggest part to date – my wife is assistant director and we expect to have a blast with this production.

All of our theatre work is on a volunteer basis and it gives us a great community to connect with. The work I do daily is very demanding and can be quite stressful, often times I find myself working with people who have just lost a loved one, are facing the passing of a loved one or they have some other pressing issue, some readings are far more relaxed, but the majority are dealing with individuals who are going through some kind of crisis. Being involved in local theatre gives myself an opportunity to play with family, join in with a fun community, and an opportunity to focus on something that requires all of my attention and provides little room for thinking about work. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE what I do, it’s just nice to be able to step away from the pressures of the office/home and play with other like minded individuals.

At first I was a bit hesitant to talk too much about my work as an actor, I have had concerns that some would think that my work as a psychic medium and animal communicator was or is an act – though I do find it difficult to see how telling you the age, appearance and manner of passing of a beloved animal companion that you ask me to connect with, along with many other personal details. with nothing more than a name to go on could be an act.

I am very busy with doing readings for clients all over the world from my home office via the internet and the phone. I used to attend psychic fairs, work in person in the town I was in from a fixed storefront and travel to events that I had put together or was invited to, a lot of that was in order to get the word out, now I know longer need to put myself out there so much and instead the work comes to me – via word of mouth, stumbling across my website or having connected with me in person in the past.

While traveling can be fun, it also has it’s dangers and can be expensive and time consuming, being able to work from the comfort and safety of my own home office has many advantages. I still do the occasional in person appearance at events and so forth, such as providing my services in Livermore, CA at Wente Vineyards for their Dog Day Afternoon event this past June 1st of 2013, and I have events that will be announced in the near future that will take place later this year in the fall.

So … while I am blogging a lot less and on Facebook less, I am busier than ever before with work, family and volunteering in local theatre.

May all of you find your lives as rewarding and enriching as the one that my family and I lead.
